Key Verse: “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” (Matthew 25:40, NIV)
Prayer Point: That we might see Jesus in the people around us—especially those who are desperate, underresourced, and alone.
Prayer: Lord of heaven—You appear in surprising places. You meet us in unlikely people. You consistently stretch us in our capacity to know You and You extend the horizons of how we expect to experience You. We ask that You give us courage to release the categories of convenience we hold—categories that can keep us from maturing, that can keep us from listening to Your voice, that can keep us from seeing You. Instead, help us to meet You in the faces of friends and strangers. Give us courage to share our lives with those who are in pain, so that we might discover Your presence there. Open our eyes as You disclose Your nearness and help us see how wonderfully close to us You are. Amen.
